New Community Resource Directory from IAH

At In Affordable Housing, Inc., our expertise is housing — homebuyer education, housing counseling, down payment assistance guidance, foreclosure prevention, and building affordable homes across Arkansas. That's where we focus every day, and it's what we do well.

But the phone doesn't always ring with a housing question. Sometimes the caller needs diapers before the end of the week. Sometimes a family is behind on a utility bill and dreading the next notice. Sometimes it's someone facing eviction who needs a lawyer, or a veteran looking for a safe place to sleep.

These needs reach beyond what we do — and we're honest about that. We are a housing organization, not a food bank, a clinic, or a crisis line. But we've never believed "that's not what we do" is a complete answer to a neighbor who is struggling.

In more than thirty years of this work, we've seen something simple and true: a family can't focus on becoming mortgage-ready while they're worried about food, safety, or keeping the lights on. The home is the foundation — but it rests on everything else.

So while we can't provide those other services, we can make sure you're never left without a starting point. That's why we built our Community Resource Directory: one organized place to find food pantries, utility assistance, legal aid, health clinics, services for seniors and veterans, and more — each one an independent organization with its own experts ready to help.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you are in emotional crisis, call or text 988 — help is available 24/7. For everything else, our directory is a good place to begin.

We can't solve every problem; no single organization can. But connecting our neighbors to the right help is part of what it means to build communities and change lives — not only through the homes we build, but through the way we show up for the people in them.
