“My credit and my savings aren’t there yet.”

Financial Capability
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau reported gains in three areas: money management, objective financial health measures including savings balances, debt levels, and credit scores, and subjective financial confidence and well-being.

What we work on
Credit, savings, debt, and what your budget actually looks like on paper. A counselor sits down with you and goes through all four. Most people arrive with a general sense that things are tight and no clear picture of why. The first session usually replaces that feeling with numbers.
Credit
-
We pull your report and read it with you. What’s accurate, what’s reporting wrong, what’s aging off and when. If something on there doesn’t belong to you, we’ll show you how to dispute it.
-
A counselor can explain how scores move and what tends to move them. Nobody can promise you a number by a date, and you should be skeptical of anyone who does.
Debt
-
We list what you owe, to whom, at what rate. Then we build an order to pay it in. Sometimes that order is what most people expect. Sometimes it isn’t, and the reason matters.
-
We are not a debt settlement company. We don’t negotiate your debts or collect payments from you to send to creditors.
Savings
What’s coming in, what’s going out, and what’s left. Then a target and a timeline you can actually hit.
Who this is for
-
Some people start here because they want to buy a house in two years and know their credit isn’t ready. Some start here because last year was hard and the numbers got away from them. Either one is a reason to call.
-
You don’t have to be planning to buy anything.
